Why aren't you praying mom?
That was the question asked to me by my 10 year old. He was curious about my failure to get up and make salat with the family. What to do? What to do?
Tell him. Duh.
Because my oldest is 10, I figured it was time to tell him the real reason Mommy goes without praying at times.
Insert half smile here.
Ok, here goes. I hope I can help some of you moms wondering how to tell your boys about those "bees."
Aqeel: Mom, why aren't you praying?
Me: Well, every month a woman's body prepares to have a baby. So it saves all the blood so the baby can grow. When the woman does not have a baby inside after a month, the body has to get rid of the blood.
Aqeel: No way! Really?
Me: Yes way! So when the blood is going away, I cant make whudu until it stops. It takes about 5 days to go away.
Aqeel: Ok.
Well wasn't that easy?
